With around 8,000 ship arrivals a year, around 300 berths and four container terminals, Hamburg is a port of superlatives. The length of all quay walls for seagoing vessels would be suitable for a marathon at 43 km!

In 2020, 126.3 million tons of cargo were handled through the Port of Hamburg. 8.5 million standard containers (TEU) took a good part of it, making Hamburg the third largest container port in Europe, and Hamburg ranks 18th worldwide.
